This project was done in partnership with the Spanish department at VT. They run a 5-week trip where students walk 300km (186 miles) on a medieval pilgrimage route then spend a few more weeks living in Spain. It is a cool program and the installation has a couple elements I'm really pleased with.
View ProjectFor Outside the Lines I worked with the library's Digital Strategy and Outreach team to design a campaign to engage VT students. We did little lending libraries, large scale open ended prompts, à la Candy Chang, as well as a few events an other things.
View ProjectThis project was a partnership with Virginia Tech's Public history department, TLOS, and the School of Visual Arts. It focused on sharing the history of a local school, called the Christiansburg Institute, founded in 1866-67 for newly emancipated African Americans.
View ProjectThis installation was done with a graduate course in Science, Technology, and Science (STS). In the course students were challenged to envision Virginia Tech in 2047. This was in response to a new initiative by the president of Virginia Tech called Beyond Boundaries. Students challenged the notions of what the administration was putting forward and developed three small installations exploring different themes.
View ProjectThis exhibit featured three courses that approach innovation in different ways. These three courses also make up the core of a new innovation minor at Virginia Tech, which is part of the new Pathways for General Education.
View ProjectPainting for Non-Majors is a course offered to all students at Virginia Tech. It is a special case because traditionally all studio art classes at Virginia Tech are restricted to art majors only. These paintings were from the first Painting for Non-Majors course.
